This is a pattern created by Linda Bohrn for Linda's Lists. You may
print to pattern to create the bookmark but do not reproduce it on
your site. You may link to this page as long as I receive credit.
Materials:
Size 10 crochet cotton - white
15 - 20 " piece of 1/4 " ribbon
No.3 steel crochet hook
Finished bookmark is about 7 - 7 ½ " long
Triple Crochet Cluster(trcl): Yo 2 times, insert hook in ch 6 space, yo,
pull through, (yo, pull through 2 loops on hook) twice, leaving last loop
on hook to be worked later; *yo 2 times, insert hook in same space, yo,
pull through, (yo, pull through 2 loops on hook) twice, leaving last loops
on hook; repeat from * number of times needed for amount of triples in
cluster; yo, pull through all loops on hook. This stitch needs 4 triples
to make a cluster.
Center of Bookmark:
Ch 13 and turn.
Row 1: Dc in 3rd ch from hook, dc in next 3 ch, ch 3, skip next 3 ch, dc in next 4 ch. Ch 3 and turn.
Row 2 - 20: Dc in next 4 dc, ch 3, skip next ch 3 space in previous row, dc in next 4 dc. Ch 3 and turn.
In last row, end with ch 6 instead of ch 3 and turn.
Border Round 1: Sc in ch 3 space of row 20. Ch 6, sc in 4th dc. *Ch 6, skip 2 rows of dc along side of bookmark and sc in between 2nd and 3rd rows.* Repeat from * to * to end of side and sc in base of 1st dc of bottom row. Ch 6, sc in ch 3 space, ch 6, sc in base of 4th dc. Repeat again from * to * along side as done for previous side ending with sl st in 1st ch of this round.
Border Round 2: *Ch 3, trcl, ch 3, trcl, ch 3, trcl, ch 3*, sc in sc, ch 3. Repeat from * to * in next ch 6 space. Sc in next ch 6 space(1st of left edge). (Ch 3, trcl, ch 3, trcl, ch 3, trcl, ch 3) in next ch 6 space, sc in next ch 6 space. Repeat from to along left edge. When you get to the bottom of the bookmark sc in sc at end of edge. *Ch 3, trcl, ch 3, trcl, ch 3, trcl, ch 3*, sc in sc, ch 3. Repeat from * to * in next ch 6 space. Sc in next ch 6 space(1st of right edge). (Ch 3, trcl, ch 3, trcl, ch 3, trcl, ch 3) in next ch 6 space, sc in next ch 6 space. Repeat from to along right edge ending with a sl st in 1st sc.
Ribbon Trim: Weave a length of ribbon through the eyelet holes in the center of bookmark and attach in the back. Use the remaining ribbon to tie a bow and attach to the top of the bookmark.
