Christmas Crocheted Stocking

Materials:

Knitting Worsted - one skein each A-Red and B-White

Crochet hook - H

Stocking:

With A, ch 50, sl st in first ch.

Rnd 1: Ch 1, sc in next ch, (ch 1, sk next ch, sc in next ch) around(25 sc). Do not join, work in continuous rounds. Mark the beginning of round.

Rnd 2: (Ch 1, sc in next ch-1 sp) around. Repeat rnd 2 for pattern. Work 2 more rnds A. Work (3 rnds B, 3 rnds A) 6 times. Work 1 rnd B.

Heel:

Next Row: With A, (sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1) 6 times, turn.

Next Row: With A, (sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1) 12 times, turn.

Next Row: With A, (sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1) 11 times, turn.

Next Row: With A, (sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1) 10 times. Continue as established sk last ch-1 sp at end of each row until 5 sc remains.

Next Row: (Sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1) 5 times, draw up a lp in last st or row below, draw up a lp through tops of last st in next row below, yo and through 3 lps on hook. Ch 1, turn.

Next row: repeat last row.

Next Row: (Sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1) 6 times, ch 1, draw up a lp in dec 2 rows below, draw up a lp in end of next row below, yo and through 3 lps on hook. Ch 1, turn.

Next Row: (Sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1) 7 times, ch 1, dec same as last row, ch 1, turn. Continue as established working one more st each row before dec until 12 sc are worked before dec; row extends to last long row of stocking.

Next Row: (Ch 1, sc in ch-1 sp) 12 times, dec as before drawing up a lp in end of first short row made.

Next Row: (Ch 1, sc in ch-1 sp) 11 times, dec as before drawing up a lp in first short row made. Sl st to center of heel.

Next Row: (right side): with B, continue in pat around(25 ch-1 sp). Work (3 rnds A, 3 rnds B) twice. Work 3 rnds A, 1 rnd B.

Toe:

Next Row: With A, *(ch 1, sc in ch-1 sp) 5 times, ch 1, (draw up a lp in next ch-1 sp) twice, yo and through 3 lps on hook - dec made. Repeat from * twice. Work 1 rnd even.

Next Row: *(Ch 1, sc in next ch-1 sp) 5 times, ch 1, dec in next 2 ch-1 sps, repeat from * once. Work 2 rnds even.

Next Row: *(Ch 1, sc in next ch-1 sp) 4 times, ch 1, dec in next 2 ch-1 sps, repeat from * twice.

Next Row: (Ch 1, sc in ch-1 sp) twice, ch 1, dec in next 2 ch-1 sps, repeat from * 7 times.

Next Row: (Ch 1, sc in next ch-1 sp, dec in 2 ch-1 sps) around until 5 sts rem. Stitch opening closed.

Finishing:

With A, make 4 2" pom poms and stitch evenly spaced along center back.

Hanger: Ch 20, sl st in first ch. Ch 3, dc in each ch around. Sl st in top of ch-3. Stitch inside top of stocking at center back.
