Linda's Christmas Lights Dishcloth/Potholder

This works up best when you use a solid bright color for the bulb.

Materials:
H Crochet Hook
Gray Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn
Black Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn
Bright Solid Color Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn

Make 1 for dishcloth and 2 for potholder.

With gray, ch 15.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across(mark this row as right side).
Row 2 - 11: Ch 1, turn, sc in back loop of each st. across. At end of row 11, fasten off.
Row 12: Attach solid color in fastened off st and ch 1, do 2 sc in 1st st, sc across and do 2 sc in last st.
Row 13 - 15: Ch 1, 2 sc in 1st st, sc in each st across, 2 sc in last st.
Row 16 - 25: Ch 1, sc in each st across.
Row 26 - 37: Ch 1, skip 1st st, sc in next st and each st across. You should have 6 sts left at the end of row 37.
Row 38: Ch 1, sc next 2 sts tog, repeat across and fasten off.

For Dishcloth. Join black in any corner. Sc around the entire dishcloth doing 3 sc in the corners. Along the bottom(gray) area in the middle do 5 ch and then continue sc with out skipping a sc on that row. Fasten off and weave in ends.

For Potholder: Holding the 2 pieces together with right sides facing out, join black in any corner. Sc around the entire dishcloth doing 3 sc in the corners. Along the bottom(gray) area in the middle do 10 ch and then continue sc with out skipping a sc on that row. Fasten off and weave in ends.

I like to seal the ends from coming undone in the wash by applying a drop of Aleene's "OK to Wash It"to the yarn ends and let sit until it is dry(clear) and cut off excess yarn.
